Kamand is a registered physiotherapist with post graduate training and clinical experience in pelvic health dysfunctions. Kamand graduated with her Kinesiology degree from York University in 2007. After working as a Kinesiologist for several years, she later graduated from Queen’s University with a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy in 2012. She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and its Women’s Health Division.
Kamand is an experienced orthopaedic and pelvic health physiotherapist. Through her own experiences she has come to appreciate the value of pelvic health. Specifically, this includes dealing with menstrual cramping, pain with intercourse, constipation and more recently pregnancy, childbirth and post partum recovery.
Kamand treats all genders for a variety of pelvic health conditions, including: incontinence, urinary frequency/urgency, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginismus/dyspareunia, ano-rectal dysfunction, pre-natal and post-partum conditions and pelvic pain.
Her approach is collaborative and individualized. Kamand takes the time to understand the underlying factors contributing to a patient’s symptoms to identify how best to assist them in achieving their goals. Kamand’s treatment style focuses on enhancing body awareness and building self-efficacy. She encourages her patients to become actively involved in their rehabilitation, and ultimately achieve their pelvic health goals.
