    Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide evidence-based, biopsychosocial resources to patients and health care practitioners for the assessment and treatment of pelvic health problems in our province and abroad.

    Courses:

Pelvic Health Solution courses are divided into three specific categories. Approximately half of our courses focus on teaching the appropriate therapists (those who have internal palpation within their scope of practice and have a rehabilitative lens within their practice) how to assess and treat the pelvic floor as it relates to specific conditions that are directly affected by the pelvic floor.

However, many of our courses are also designed specifically for the non-internal rehabilitation professional to engage patients in an evidence-based way while treating problems of pelvic floor dysfunction that arise within their practice.  Non-internal courses will also highlight when it is appropriate to refer to a therapist who has internal palpation skills so that all rehabilitation professionals are following evidence-based guidelines for the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.

The course listings on this website are be divided into three categories:

Introductory Internal courses: The Internal courses are generally intended for physiotherapists, nurse practitioners, naturopaths, midwives, general practitioners and gynaecologists.  All course participants who want to complete internal exams must follow the first three levels in order (the full series is offered every spring and fall).  Once Levels I-III have been completed, the remaining advanced internal courses can be taken in any order based on need and interests of the course participant.

Non-internal courses: The Non-internal courses are intended for physiotherapists (who are not currently interested in completing internal exams), occupational therapists (unless you are from the USA where internal exams may be in your scope of practice), kinesiologists, chiropractors, massage therapists, nurse practitioners, midwives, naturopaths and physicians.

Advanced Internal Courses:  The advanced courses can be taken by therapists who have finished all three levels of the Introductory Internal courses, and want to improve their internal palpation techniques.
