In a world that revolves around bowel and bladder, I cannot rave enough about the impact that Gastrointestinal Disorders and The Pelvic Floor course, had on me and my practice. I was able to hone in on skills that perpetuated significant improvement in my patients that are suffering with GI issues. This course introduced a number of different ways of analyzing function of the GI system, diet and the role that our environment plays in dysfunction. I had several “a-ha” moments when Susan presented research and factual information that I could immediately put into practice and as a result, I have had great success and advancement in treating bowel issues. I have utilized balloon catheter training in a number of patients including my pediatric population and have witnessed the resurgence of fecal urge sensation and reduced the incidence of fecal incontinence in patients ranging from 5 years old to 95 years old. I have worked with patients with IBS, Crohn’s and chronic constipation and attribute great success to adding the skills that I obtained in this course to my tool box. Susan in an incredible instructor whom I enjoyed every minute with! Her enthusiasm, her humor and her incredible knowledge base made this course beyond enjoyable! I left this course feeling inspired and empowered and have since developed the ability to take on this population with confidence and success! I would absolutely recommend the Gastrointestinal Disorders and The Pelvic Floor course to every practicing pelvic physiotherapist!

I found this course invaluable. It solidified my assessment/palpation skills and eliminated my mental hesitation of ‘uh oh’ before an examination. With specific gastrointestinal disorders I feel confident that I am providing competent care that results in positive client outcomes. I share information daily with all of my clients. Clarifying ano-rectal anatomy and function nearly always provides an AHA!! moment, which leads to previously unspoken concerns or issues and a better understanding of bladder function and pelvic pain.

The Gastrointestinal Disorders And The Pelvic Floor course is an essential next step for the pelvic health therapist treating dysfunctions of the pelvic floor. It gives the therapist confidence and the ability to address a variety of symptoms and complaints in patients with complex issues including constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and endometriosis. It is the next step in understanding how to provide the pelvic patient with a comprehensive and effective treatment approach.
