The Mentorship Channel – Explain Pain Supercharged

Date to be determined as this program will be offered continuously during the year, with a new group starting every time there are 10 people signed up.

Setting: This live-stream, online, small-group program (10 participants) will meet monthly to review the principles of Butler and Moseley’s newest book, Explain Pain Supercharged. The format will utilize an online meeting room to have a face-to-face discussion, reviewing previously learned material and understanding new material for treating pelvic pain. There will be a monthly, 2-hour meeting for 10 months (July and August will always be free and clear of meetings) from the comfort of your own home. Each 2-hour session will involve participant-driven case studies for half of the session. This is a time to get your questions answered in a small-group, problem-solving format.

Topics to be discussed:

  1. Biopsychosocial: It’s More than Just a Buzzword (Chapter 2, EPS)
  2. Keeping the “Bio” in Biopsychosocial
  3. Sleep- a Basic Human Need
  4. Be the Placebo, Not the Nocebo
  5. Explain Pain: The Theory behind the Practice (Chapters 4 and 5, EPS)
  6. The Teacher in Me: The Student in Me (Chapter 6, EPS)
  7. The Malleable Magic of Metaphors (Chapter 7, EPS)
  8. The Pain Library- Novellas and Nuggets (Chapter 8 and 9, EPS)
  9. Cognitive Functional Therapy: Function meets Psychology
  10. The Microbiome- Immunity, Diet and Emotions
